Divya Sandesh (Divine Message 1) delivered on 22nd Aug. 1966.

From 1965 to 1990, H.H. Mahatapasvi Shri Kumarswamiji performed penance, with a very few intervals, living in a cave. He lived only on fruits and milk. After his long penance, His Holiness gave ‘darshan’ and blessings to the aspirants. He delivered messages for the whole of human race, for human welfare through unity, peace, spiritualism, yoga and social service, based on love and wisdom. His messages reveal the realities of truth, the need of the time and the spirit of a true Yogi in relation to human life and cosmic consciousness. With blessings of His Holiness, we are publishing here his only 4 messages delivered at Tapovan, Dharwad.

About two years hence the planetary bodies swing into positions of uncommon occurrence. These bodies exert influences on the earth planet and all life upon it. This time, these influences occasion the display of dreadful events. We have lived through the Second World War in which we saw nothing of more consequence than the avarice of nations causing them to take up arms to annihilate one another in the interests of commerce. It was but the prelude to a greater tribulation that is likely to come upon us in its four-fold phase. The times will grow unfavorable but it only indicates an approaching of the crisis. “When ye shall hear of wars and rumour of wars, be ye not troubled, for such things must needs be; but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be earthquakes in diverse places and there shall be famines and troubles, these are the beginnings of sorrows.”

A heap of sorrows begins to overtake humanity from the middle of 1968, and reaches its climax in 1974. After that period, a state of social anarchy ensures which necessitates the advent of Adepts or the reign of Justice which will have its sway in 1980.

The gigantic planetary influences that are shortly to be felt do enhance the powers of Evil, which challenge the powers of Good. These two great alignments of powers are coming to grip in this generation. In the grim fight which lasts for one decade, the evil powers get the upper hand for a while and seem to threaten the existence of mankind. People shall say in that day, “The Earth is Satan’s, let him have it.” But the Adepts say, “The Earth is God’s and as God’s we shall have it.” This process of taking too commences only after one decade.

India will irresistibly be drawn into the universal storm, and she too has to suffer before she can emerge triumphant out of the ordeal.

Terror reigns now, terror broods over the earth. Each man is in dread of his brother, and each nation of its neighbor. The East fears the West, the present fears the future. Alas! fear is the only foe to be feared. Those who profess that they alone survive because they are the fittest, will go down into the trench of time for the time spirit is interested not so much in the survival of the fittest as in the arrival of the fittest.

A voice has sprung up from the secret heart of the Earth, saying, Behold! The great hour predicts and precedes the great man. The Hindus await the Avatar Kalki; the Jews await the Messiah; the Buddhists, the Bodhisattva; the Christians, the return of Christ; the Muslims, the Mehdi; the Parsees, the Soshiant; and those who await no one, at least await something. But all await the reign of Justice. The reign not of small but of great things, the reign of the small who know how to be great and of the great who know how to humble themselves, the reign not of the poor who wish to become rich but of the rich who make themselves poor, the reign not of ignorance but of wisdom, of all that ennobles and enlightens man, the reign of the Elite – that is what the future will call democracy. For true democracy will not exclude the Elite, it will purify them; it excludes but false greatness. What is truly great it elevates yet more. As the sap it rises from below, it vivifies the Life Tree and beautifies it.
